Baudry – Dutour Vintage 2022 Bottle Sizes 750ml Country France Region Loire Valley Appellation Chinon Wine Type Red Varietals Cabernet Franc Vineyard 20-year old vines at their Domaine du Roncée. Soil Clay & sand from the banks of the Vienne River (Loire tributary). Vinification Gentle pressing, cold soak maceration, natural fermentation in stainless steel. Aging 6 months in stainless steel. Notes Amaranth is a flowering plant found in abundance in the vineyards of Chinon. It has two particular characteristics: the purple-red color of some of its varieties are close to that of Chinon wines when they are young and fruity, and amaranth does not fade which makes it a symbol of immortality (it is not for nothing that the berets of paratroopers are Amaranthe red!)
