The vineyard itself is located to the northwest of Sta. Rita Hills. There is a section of the vineyard that acts as a wind break for the rest of the Riesling; this wind stressed, defoliated section goes into Vandenberg. Also, any grapes infected with Botrytis from any part of the vineyard go into this wine. Both picks are hand sorted in the vineyard. These components emphasize the stone fruit flavors of Riesling. This wine illustrates the amazing juxtaposition of Rieslings power and grace. Soil Betteravia Sandy Loam Vinification Fermented in stainless steel until Dry (6g/L). Malolactic fermentation does not occur. Aging Aged for one year in the winery, and one year in bottle before release. Back to Current Releases
