Lorenza Wine Company Vintage 2022 Bottle Sizes 750ml Country US Region California Appellation Lodi Wine Type Red Varietals Cinsaut Farming Organic Vineyard The legendary Bechthold Vineyard, organically farmed, 12 acre vineyard was planted in 1886 on its own roots in sandy alluvial soil on the west side of the Mokelumne River. This land in the previous century was planted to watermelons which appear as legacy volunteers between the gnarled vines just before harvest. Soil Sandy alluvial soil. Vinification We pulled fruit from our section of the vineyard along with a bin and a half from the eastern section on the morning of September 5. Gently de-stemmed, the fruit was fermented in a short stainless steel tank with twice daily punch downs and drained post fermentation. 100% free run juice rested in neutral oak and stainless steel and aged for 9 months before bottling on May 23, 2023. Aging Aged in neutral oak + stainless steel barrels for 9 months. Production 105 cases produced. Notes The 2022 Lorenza Cinsaut is a velvety ruby red color with aromas of mountain strawberries, kumquat, cinnamon, cardamon and clove. Delicate and energetic, the wine washes over the palate with dried strawberries, baking spices, dried herbs. Finish is bright and juicy. Back to Current Releases
