The vineyard is approximately 1.5 hectares of low yielding 70 to 100+ year old Gamay vines. The town considers this one of the finest terroirs in Fleurie. Soil Pink granite Viticulture As with all of Dutraive's vineyards, lieu-dit Champagne is organically farmed and worked by hand. Vinification Carbonic maceration with no added sulfer and natural yeast. Vinification occurs in concrete before aging in futs de chene (barrel). Wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal SO2 added. Aging Aged for 8 months in futs de chene (barrel). No new oak was used. Production Extremely limited. Back to Current Releases
